Living Folklore Parade Preparation. Costumes supplied. Do you want to participate?
Meet at the Children's Village - 5:15pm
What is a parade in a suitcase? Living Folklore has been bringing giant puppets, flags, stiltwalkers, and costumes to festivals for almost 20 years! Each parade teaches an important story to children and adults, the best part is that you can become part of that story. We are happy to bring the Rainmaker Parade to Arise this year which teaches about the importance of the water cycle. Ma Ua O Nalani is the giant rain goddess puppet. Children carry clouds, umbrellas, rainbow flags and dress as ladybugs, bumble bees, and bats. Parents climb into the light-weight giant puppets that include a Ladybug Faerie, A Queen Bee, and The Green Man enacting a colorful honoring of nature that enhances the festival experience for everyone.
