It’s all about that bass. The acoustic bass that is. Join Justin Bruhn (Pert Near Sandstone), Matt Cantor (Gipsy Moon), and Jon Pickett (Chain Station) for a fun Playshop Session all about exploring what is possible with the acoustic bass.

Justin Bruhn (Pert Near Sandstone)
Raised by ferrel cats on the streets of Bucharest, Justin mainly used an upright bass for shelter. Upon learning that his bass could be used as a musical instrument, he worked his way off the streets by performing on the streets. Also having spent a lot of time on the streets, Pert Near Sandstone found Justin while battling for turf. They decided to join forces two years ago and have since opened up on a Colorado tour for the McCoury's and shared the stage with Sam Bush!

Matt Cantor (Gipsy Moon)
Matt is a Colorado native, born and raised in Boulder.  He has been playing the bass for over 12 years.  The bass he uses was originally played by his grandfather who played Jazz in New York for over 70 years.

Jon Pickett (Chain Station)
Jon Pickett plays the double-bass, sings lead & harmony and writes many songs with Chain Station, based in Colorado's front range. A multi-instrumentalist on bass, drums and guitar Jon has made singing and playing the upright his main focus and passion since 2010. He has become know for belting out energetic and soulful lead vocals and haunting high harmonies while laying down a solid and creative bass groove, the foundation upon which Chain Station's prolific pickers soar.
