Awaken to your passion and capacity for sensation, imagination and self love with this guided voyage through the dynamic vitality of your physical, astral, imaginal and etheric body. Essential elements of Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Ether Inform, purify and sanctify us as they enliven our motion and stillness. This guided movement meditation features an exquisite live soundscape woven by Bobby Levy the as well as embodiment practices from BUTOH in the lineage of Japanese founder Kazuo Ohno and Somatic Meditation.
Maureen “Momo” Freehill, MFA is founder and artistic director of BUTOPIA Center for Embodied Arts in Nature & SOMA Sanctuary of Moving Arts on Whidbey Island, WA (www.butopia.org). For 30 years she has been teacher, personal mentor & coach for creative souls and life artists worldwide. Working intimately with the illuminating path and tools of the Gene Keys (www.embodygenius.net), she offers profoundly practical guidance to embody the dance of fun, fluency and grace in our daily lives. She brings unique passion for the natural world to her work as performer, educator & director of somatic and spiritual practice & performance.
As creator of YearOfButoh DailyDance project she produced nearly 600 butoh dance films (www.dailydance.net).
Her MFA is in Directing Asian Theater/Dance Performance with training & certification in Yoga Instruction (Shambhava), Hypnotherapy (Transpersonal), Dance Therapy (Naropa U); Somatic & Spiritual Education.
She lived, studied & performed with BUTOH founders Kazuo & Yoshito Ohno, for 5 years in Japan & continues to tour internationally as guest artist + presenter at Universities, retreat centers & theaters such as Duke U, Seattle U, E. Carolina U, Virginia Commonwealth U, U of Colorado, U of New Mexico & others.
